The good King Duncan has died. He was well loved by the people, and we shall all mourn his passing. Nevertheless, the sun still rises, and we must go on.
His kingdom is left to you, his children, divided equally to rule as you please. He had hoped that you would rule with grace, civility, and honour. Whether this is true remains to be seen.
Your people look to you for guidance, as you grow to rule your corner of the Kingdom. They need leadership, and someone who can provide for them in times of need. They can be demanding at times, but I trust that you shall rise to the challenge and show the people that you are deserving of your inheritance.
Whether you can get along with your siblings is a different story.
The Vow is a Political, Competitive Role Playing Game, in which players role play as the leader of a people. This game is still in development and playtesting, but if you're interested in playing something a little different and a little experimental (and putting in your feedback to make it better) then this is the game for you!
May contain violence. Lines, Veils, and X Cards will be used.
The good King Duncan - beloved ruler of all Kel'Aran - is dying. The people mourn in the streets, and his children gather in the Keep to say their final goodbyes. With his dying breath, he divides the kingdom equally between his children, and leaves it to them to take his people forward into the future.
As you take up the mantle of leadership, what Vows will you make to your people? Will you focus on bringing them wealth and prosperity, or perhaps ensure a bounty of farmland so that none shall go hungry? Or perhaps, you will choose a darker path and wage war with your siblings? In any case, you must see it that your Vows are upheld and your people satisfied, else there will be hell to pay.
Please note: The Vow is a competitive political rpg that is in development. It's a bit weird/different to your classic ttrpg, but if you're a fan of Smallworld, Civilization, Diplomacy, Twilight Imperium, or some good ol fashioned backstabbing, please come along!
Violence. Money. Betrayal.
Welcome to the City — a lawless district and also your home. Some here are fools who can only dream of striking it rich. Others are as smart as they are cowardly, hiding where the law has no say. But whatever delusion draws us here, whatever sin we wallow in that can only be indulged here, whatever it is that makes us take that step across the threshold, we are the wicked, and the City is our sanctuary.
You are a rogue trying to suck the marrow out of the big fish in this pond - the VIP. But you, you’re one of the picares, a rogue among rogues. So once again, welcome to the City—we’ve been waiting. Join us in our song, a requiem for us rogues.
