Wellington Anniversary Weekend January 17th - 18th 2026

Nicotine Girls

Facilitator:
Morgue

nicotine girls is a roleplaying game of teenage, lower-income girls looking for happiness. It's by Paul Czege (My Life With Master, The Clay That Walks) and was released free online in the early 00s. It's the winner of the 2002 Indie RPG award for Best Free Game.

You'll be young women aged 16-19 taking smoke breaks from crappy jobs. You have tenuous dreams and too many things going wrong. That's the whole game.

Express Route: a LANCER Mech Adventure

Facilitator:
Matt Player

LANCER is a mud-and-lasers sci-fi RPG, where players take the role of ace pilots, mechanics, and soldiers at the helm of advanced combat mechs in the far flung future of humanity.

You will take the mantle of mercenaries sent to secure a crashed transport from interstellar pirates in a 3 hour mini to mini combat session. Use strategy and teamwork to best your enemies in an all-out brawl on the planet Cressidium, where war between the Leandric States and Vestan Sovereignty grips the planet.

If you're after crunchy, tactical combat that maintains a focus on individual characters and teams, LANCER is the game for you. Expect the tone to be light hearted, but not comedic - jokes are welcome, but they won't be the main focus. Knowledge of the system will prove quite valuable but is far from required - I'm expecting some, if not all, of my players to be new to the system. Learning tools and reference cards will be provided.

Remember high school? All the angst, drama, rebellion, gossip, crushes, homework, exams, scholarships, careers, family obligations, fashion, music, and being very misunderstood?

It's no different when you're a student at Innsmouth High School. Well, all right, maybe it's a little different - maybe in other towns they don't go skinny dipping at Devil's Reef, maybe other teenagers don't have arranged marriages with Deep Ones to worry about and maybe other teenagers don't have to worry about how their gills look with the latest looks in Cosmo. But other than that, it's not much different being a teenager in a decaying town trapped in an ongoing alliance with a race of underwater monsters.

You were on your way to a pre-graduation party, and now it's the next morning, and you don't remember anything between arriving and the party and, well, now. Your head hurt, you're covered in dirt, seawater, and blood, and you're pretty sure you said some stuff you really shouldn't have... what the hell happened last night?

A high school caper meets "The Hangover" meets H.P. Lovecraft. A a rules-light, no-to-low costume comedy larp for ten players. Perfect for anyone who has never larped but been loud at a table.

As they say at Innsmouth High - it's only funny until someone gets sacrificed to Dagon. Then it's HILARIOUS

This is a teen-friendly game is written and GM'd by a teen and is good for all ages that can role-play dungeons and dragons. You will be playing as third level D&D characters, I am using the 5e system (not 2024 rules), there will be pre-made characters available but you can bring your own.

LARP double feature: GIANT CRAB MONSTER and REVIEWING STAND

Facilitator:
Tim Oliver

These are two small LARPs by Jason Morningstar (also known for Fiasco/Winterhorn/Juggernaut) - they both take 6 players and take less than an hour, so we'll do two in a row!

Neither game requires advance prep, costuming, or any knowledge of system, but you're welcome to fancy up if you feel like it.

REVIEWING STAND: It's a parade! You are all important figures in the utterly patriotic nation of Tauberg-Nassenau, and you are stuck in a reviewing stand waving at the troops during a formal parade. Toasts! Anthems! Speeches! Being dignified representatives of the elite! Secret agendas! This game has a fixed soundtrack for the entire game period to keep you *in the mood*.

GIANT CRAB MONSTER: Yeah, that's about it, a giant crab monster is headed towards your town and it must be stopped. As Prominent Citizens, you're the only ones who can do something about it. But what?
